Artist Submissions

The Appel Gallery exhibits a wide range of photographic work created by traditional darkroom, digital, and historical/alternative processes. We are looking for both emerging and established artists that can both complement and expand the scope of our inventory. We consider work produced in all formats, provided the subject or technique is appropriate for the format used.

The gallery exhibits prints on fixed walls as well as in art racks.

Process for Face-to-Face Portfolio Reviews:

  1. Contact Steve Appel for an appointment.

Process for Electronic Portfolio Reviews:

  1. Images and relevant documentation must be in digital format on a CD, submitted via Email, accessible on a webpage, or FTP.
  2. Please submit a representative selection of images.
  3. Save image files in JPEG format at a minimum of 72 dpi.
  4. Write your name, phone number and email address on the CD itself.
  5. Relevant document includes separate text files:
    • A biography or resume (including name, address, phone number(s) and email address).
    • An artist's statement
    • A brief description of the images, including title, final print format (i.e. gelatin silver, digital, etc.) and approximate print size(s).
  6. Before sending a CD, please verify that your image files open properly.
  7. Email digital files or FTP instructions to info@appelgallery.com
  8. Mail or deliver your CD to:

  9. CDs will not be returned.
